Dear Friend,

Our children's ministry has taken front and center attention lately at ISOH/IMPACT. God has placed several new medical rehabilitation needs before us and we are working hard to serve these children.

“He sent forth his word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave.” (Psalm 107:20)

Your support enables us to continue reaching out and serving children in need – children like Melany, who you’ll read about in this edition of our e-newsletter. The kids in our Children’s LightHouse ministry face pain, sickness, and even death. They are in danger, and there is nothing they or their parents can do to help.

I believe with all my heart that God hand selects each and every child in the Children’s LightHouse. He has a plan for their lives. He longs to use them as a blessing in this world. I can see it happening already.

Even before the children undergo their surgeries, they begin touching lives around them. At the Children’s LightHouse, we and our ministry partners bind together to save the lives of children like Melany, but in the end, they are the ones who change our lives.

Thank you for joining us in this special ministry.

Reaching Out & Serving Others

"What did I do? Why am I being punished?" The mother sobbed as we gave her the report that both of her children are sick.

The truth is, this heart-broken mother did nothing wrong. We held her, prayed with her, and did our best to explain that God loves her and has a plan for her life – and the lives of her children.

Melany, the woman's daughter, is a delightful little girl, well cared for and adored by her parents. She suffers from Truncus Ateriosus, a life-threatening heart condition that affects the blood flow to the body and the lungs. Melany's heart cannot be fixed in Honduras, her home country. She will likely die without serious medical intervention.

How you can help:

  • Commit to pray for Melany and her family.
  • Contribute to Melany's fund for airfare. We will need an estimated $2,000 to transport her and an adult family member.
  • Sponsor Melany to provide food, school, and ongoing medical care.

Melany's brother, Mario, was recently diagnosed with cerebral palsy. He cannot control his movements, must be fed by his parents, and is unable to speak. Doctors believe Mario contracted cerebral palsy in the womb when his mother was battling measles.

Please pray with us for this dear family. It is difficult to imagine the extent of their suffering, but their sorrow is written on their mother's face.

Melany is strong enough to be an excellent candidate for heart surgery, and we are working hard to bring her to the US through our Children’s LightHouse ministry.

Sponsor a Child. Change a Life.

We are expanding our child sponsorship program and encourage you to get involved. Children such as Malika, Lesli or Christian are waiting for someone like you to give them a second chance in life. For many of the children in our Children's LightHouse ministry, extreme poverty and illness have combined to push them to the edges of society where they wait alone. They are the most vulnerable among us. They need our help.

Only $25 a month sponsors a child through the Children's LightHouse. $50 a month sponsors a child with special medical needs. We have more than 30 children who need a sponsor. If you can't cover the entire monthly cost, pair up with a friend or family member.

Help us spread the word. Tell your friends, family, Bible study, and Church. Your sponsorship covers food, education, and basic medical care for these precious children. Most of all, your sponsorship gives these children a future filled with hope, health, and possibility. Meet the children.

The winter months don't just bring snowmen and sledding. For impoverished families without the means to provide protection, they bring bitter cold temperatures and life threatening conditions. Please donate the warmth of new winter clothing, hats, coats, gloves, socks, and boots. Donations of grocery and gas gift cards are also needed.

You aren’t just helping to keep these families warm. You’re touching hearts and saving lives.
