The LightHouse, a ministry of ISOH/IMPACT, prepares to welcome Marwa and her father on Friday, January 20, 2012. Marwa, a beautiful 12-year-old girl from Afghanistan, is traveling to the United States through ISOH/IMPACT's Children's Medical Rehabilitation Program.

While we initally expected Marwa and her father to arrive on Tuesday, January 10, Marwa experienced some emotional and physical duress after traveling the first leg of her journey from Afghanistan and landing in Dubai.  Frustrated with some unexpected delays and in pain, Marwa ripped up both her own and her father's visas and passports. Countless hours have since been spent burning the midnight/morning oil through the gamut of international time zones, organizations and agencies to resolve the situation. It is with praise and rejoicing that we share the good news that Marwa and her father have both received their replacement visas and passports. They are now booked on flights scheduled to arrive in Detroit this Friday, January 20 at 11:25 a.m. We want to thank everyone for their caring concern and prayers of support. We celebrate the grace of God and the endless persistence of everyone involved which has enabled this child to continue her journey to the United States.
