Linda Greene
Linda A. Greene, RN PhD, is President and CEO of ISOH/IMPACT. As such, she is devoted to meeting the physical and spiritual needs of children and their families. For more than twenty-five years, Linda partnered with her husband Stan in facilitating medical and non-medical teams to communities affected by manmade and natural disasters.
Under the Greene’s leadership, ISOH/IMPACT founded The Children’s Lighthouse, which provides a safe haven for at risk children and their mothers. Linda also worked to implement The Children’s Medical Rehabilitation Program (CMRP) in 1991, which brings ailing children from impoverished countries to the United States where they can receive the life-saving surgery they desperately need.
After countless children in Haiti were poisoned by contaminated cough syrup sent in 1996 from China, CMRP acted quickly to ameliorate the damage. In addition to USAID, UNICEF, Pan American Health Organization and the World Health Organization, Linda coordinated with a number of other health care institutions and providers. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration, The Haitian Ministry of Health, the University Hospital in Haiti, and the Caribbean Epidemiology Center provided research and treatment for the children affected by the ingestion of the contaminated acetaminophen syrup. ISOH/IMPACT mobilized resources to minister to the victims and their families.
With the Greene’s guidance, ISOH/IMPACT has touched countless lives. Always looking for new opportunities to serve, Linda helped lead the first team of medical doctors to perform the first cardiac bypass surgery in Fuzhou, China. She also orchestrated relief efforts in 2005 for resident of Biloxi, MS, and sent one of the first relief teams to the city following Hurricane Katrina. The Greene’s also directed the medical efforts of ISOH/IMPACT for the victims of the 2005 tsunami in Indonesia. Through both disasters, the Greene’s were able to draw on their experiences from Hurricane Mitch when they served as team leaders for the Toledo/Honduran Relief Mission.
Linda’s dedication to ministering to the needs of others has been publicly recognized in numerous countries: the United States for working with American Armed Forces in Haiti and the Ukraine for helping children affected by the Chernobyl Disaster and their families. Linda has also been awarded a Diploma of Appreciation from Honduras for helping the children in the town of Danli. Other countries in which Linda has ministered include China, Croatia, Haiti, Paraguay and Tajikistan.
Since Stan’s passing in 2007, ISOH/IMPACT remains dedicated to serving God through its ministries under Linda’s leadership and direction. The organization remains focused on building networks and partnerships that further its mission of Reaching Out & Serving Others.
